Don’t fight the crowds at the mall – come to the next Charlotte Art Collective’s Art Show and Sale. Held once in the spring and once prior to the winter holidays, you'll have the chance to enjoy looking at fine art and crafts and chatting with the artists – you can purchase one-of-a-kind gifts made by local artists. There’s a full range of prices and twelve different art mediums among the many indoor booths.
The next show will be in late November or early December on a Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm in the centrally located Dilworth/Freedom Park neighborhood. The art show returns to MacLean Hall at Avondale Presbyterian Church at 2821 Park Road. There is ample free parking with an accessible entrance.
The popular art show brings hundreds of people who look forward to this semi-annual event where they can chat with twenty professional Charlotte artists who offer their fine art and crafts in a wide range of prices. The Charlotte Art Collective will raffle a “Basketful of Art” to help a specially chosen local charity. Donated art objects from each artist create the “Basketful of Art” which is valued at over $500.
At the show you'll find a wide variety of mediums including, in part, pottery, painting, jewelry, photography, textile design, fiber art, sculpture, collage, handmade paper and books, woodwork, chocolate, and mixed media.
The artists are professional, most with gallery representation, including galleries around the country and in Europe. Several of the artists are former Artists in Residence at the McColl Visual Arts Center. Others lead workshops in their medium or have their own gallery or shop around the Charlotte area. The group’s juried competition attracts a lively mix of established and emerging artists.
It's a don't miss event; be there or be square.
